An update on eSuite’s eCommerce Accelerator Program

It’s fair to say it’s been a big year at eSuite -0 as it has been with anyone in eCommerce!

As well as matching fast-growing eCommerce businesses with some of the best talent in Australia, we announced our eCommerce Accelerator program for graduates. The intent was to kick off this November but since launching, we’ve made some changes which we want to share with you here.

Based on the amazing feedback from students, Employer Partners, uni professors and our industry contacts, changes we are making are:

  • Pushing the first intake back from November 2021 to February 2021. The overwhelming feedback we got from students is that they are exhausted. The idea of launching into an intensive two weeks after a big year was daunting to many. And if we are honest, we’re feeling it too! It’s been a big year. We’ll start fresh next year after everyone’s had a break.
  • Shifting from a two week intensive to a ten-week stepped program. Students still need to pay the bills and asking them to stop everything for two weeks ruled out many – especially those with no other support. We’re going to run the program over 10 weeks with approximately 4 hours commitment required each week
  • Moving to online-only and accessible nationally. After the Zoom overload, we heard from many that a hybrid online/offline approach was best. However, having a physical expectation in Brisbane did not appeal to students and limited our intake. We will run the program as a live and interactive program – open to anyone in Australia.
  • Opening the training to eCommerce retailers, agencies and partners. We were overwhelmed by those in the industry who came forward and wanted to upskill themselves, their customer service or retail teams, new eCom team members or periphery talent. We love the idea of mixing all levels of industry experience with some fresh thinkers!

We would have loved to get the Accelerator started this year but we are so thankful for all the feedback we’ve had so far. Of course, we don’t expect this to be the final changes we will make – as the first of its kind in Australia, it will be an evolving program. We just wanted to share what we’ve learnt and we’re heading as you’ve been on the journey with us.

We are really excited about magnifying the impact we can have in building and upskilling Australian eCommerce talent. Next year will be big! Stay tuned for more details.
