Can you really wait for your next holiday?

Can you really wait for your next holiday?

Sydney. We are feeling for you. Lockdowns are brutal – especially with all the uncertainty that come with them.

One thing we are seeing across the market is a sense of exhaustion.

Regardless of where you are in Australia, it’s been a big 18 months. Especially in eCommerce.  Emotionally, physically and psychologically, the covid burnout is real.

If we can suggest anything – book in some annual leave

We know the ideal scenario is saving it up, working through the uncertainty and then emerging with months of annual leave and a passport to explore. But the damage might already be done by then.

Some businesses are realising this as well and getting on the front foot.

Okta is an identity software platform that employs 3.500 people. Their CEO recognised that in the world of Silican Valley, their team were burning out and ignoring self restoration. So at the next all hands meeting, he told all his team about his upcoming family vacation. And asked all staff members to email him directly with their plans for their next holiday. It inspired action.

So whether it’s that long-awaited trip to adventure through the Red Centre, a road trip to see relatives you haven’t seen in ages or a week-long Netflix binge – take the time. Book it in. Recharge. Refresh. Your future self will thank you. And there’ll be plenty more airports in your future.
