Earlier this month we soft-launched our eCommerce Accelerator Program. However, ecstatic turned to panic when I bolted upright from my sleep at 3am the Saturday morning after launch.
I had got the entire model wrong. 😱
We originally went to market with the opportunity for ten category exclusive retail partners. This enabled retailers exclusive access to the final student positions and the ability to make job offers to our trained graduates. $4,950 got access and one successful student placement. But there were a few challenges here…
- We were limiting the impact we could make to a handful of brilliant eCommerce businesses
- We were limiting opportunities to retailers rather than eCom agencies, tech partners and service providers – there are so many differnet avenues to an eCommerce career
- We were asking for financial commitment upfront. And hey, this has never been done in eCommerce before. So we thought we can wear the risk.
So, now there’s no upfront commitment to becoming an Employer Partner for our graduate program. We connect our Employer Partners to our trained up graduates and if there’s a successful match, we’ll take a little cut to cover the training and matchmaking.
And so far the result has been amazing. We have partners involved for our Brisbane intake including Lovehoney, Roses Only, TradeMutt, Makeup Cartel, FWR Brands, Reload Media, BFJ Media, MobileDigital and more signing up every day. It’s a really exciting crew with heaps of opportunities for graduates to land a brilliant first eCommerce job.
