When do you know you are ready to take the leap?

There’s no doubt it is a jobseeker’s market. But unlike milk crates, there’s no rush to pile on. This is even true in the eCommerce world.

As recruiters, we can see the number of applications on Seek and LinkedIn. It’s fair to say that unprompted applications are at a low point. So much so that Seek is warning job posters not to expect as many applications when applying advertising a new role. How’s that for confidence? 

But when we speak to skilled people, the reason for this vacuum becomes clear.

There is fatigue and a real fear of change right now. It makes sense. When you can’t do simple things like see your colleagues, go to the footy or plan a weekend away – bigger decisions become mammoth decisions. And who has the mental capacity for that? 

Still, the opportunities are out there for those ready to take advantage.
